About Me

Me as a New Motorcyclist and safety first, full face helmet.
Just Me…Newly Licensed.

Hi, I’m Tom,

Others feel I have a colorful background, but I think I am as plain and generic as my name. Tom. A name you give to a stray alley cat, and like my name, I’m just a plain simple person.

Things About Me:

I am a constant learner. Because of this, I’ve worked in the engineering fields, computer fields, and now the medical fields. I hold college degrees in these fields as well as professional certifications and licenses in several others. I like staying busy by trying new things. This shows.

What else shows is I am an over-thinker and very frugal with spending money(I only buy used cars, and my favorite car is a 2002 Corolla with 216k+ miles). I typically limit how much I spend without overthinking. Unless it’s stock, ETFs, or savings accounts, my addiction to investing and returns can be a blog itself. I want to say, less you waste money on yourself, the more you can support and be charitable to others.

My Bike Riding Hobbies:

While living in a foster home, I taught myself how to ride a bike using a provided bike. Riding was a mental reprieve for me; it managed to quiet my young mind. Something that has not changed much with age.

I have ridden Mountain Bikes almost all my life. I started like every kid, just regular bicycle or BMX bike. However, once I moved from street-oriented bicycles to mountain bikes, I realized it best suited my riding style.

Riding mountain bikes allowed me to explore my neighborhood, plan longer riders and go off-road to enjoy my local woods and forests.

I wanted a way to take my mountain bike and make it faster, cover more area. I ride, and ride, but wanted more!

My Motorcycle And Motorcycle Blog Decision:

I work in an emergency room and get to see the dark side of motorcycling. These experiences have affected me over the years.

Lately(fueled by 2020’s life shake up), I got a renewed interest in motorcycles; since I figured I already ride on roads with my mountain bike, I could upgrade to a motorized version( I Want To Ride Motorcycles ). I learned more about risk management and felt I reached my comfort zone.

I became a motorcycle rider(How Do I Get A Motorcycle License In Pennsylvania? – FAQ)

And became a Blog writer.

Follow me and give me feedback on how I can learn faster and ride safer.

Thank you,

Hi I’m Tom, A New Motorcycle Rider and Blog Author.

I am a new rider(Pa Learners Permit at the end of 2020, and I received a Pa Motorcycle License in 2021 after passing a Motorcycle Safety Course).

I bought my first motorcycle, a TaoTao TBR7, at the beginning of 2021 and have been doing upgrades on that motorcycle since.

I added to my motorcycle collection by buying a Boom Vader Gen 2 in 2022, and that Grom-Clone motorcycle has been upgraded by me as well.

I continue to ride my Boom Vader Gen 2 motorcycle as well as my TaoTao TBR7 dual-sport bike.

Fun Fact: I’ve only been on one group ride.
