In hindsight, this is an easy process. Since motorcycles have an electrical system to operate the headlights and accessories, you can tap into that electrical system and charge a cell phone.
Can You Wire A USB To A 12V Battery?
Now can’t just be directly wired into the motorcycle system since there are different voltages between a motorcycle’s and a cell phone’s electrical systems. Still, there is a cell phone charging system that acts as a go-between.
How Do You Charge Your Phone With A Motorcycle Cell Phone Charger?
A motorcycle cell phone charger is like an after-market automotive cell phone charger. It takes the motorcycle’s electrical system and adjusts it to power your cell phone.
Also, the cell phone charger creates access ports to connect to your cell phone. The ones I installed on my Boom Vader Gen 2 Motorcycle, and my TaoTao TBR7 dual-sport motorcycle, had USB ports allowing regular USB cables to connect to the cell phone.
