How Do I Complete My Pennsylvania Motorcycle Road Test? – FAQ

In order to complete your Pennsylvania Motorcycle Road Test, I was given two options:

Use your Pa Motorcycle Learner’s permit to practice motorcycle riding and driver test stations on your own, schedule a road test at a PennDot DMV testing center,

-OR-

You can take a Pennsylvania-sanctioned motorcycle safety course and complete the course with a passing grade.

On the final day, you take a road test on a closed course, displaying all the motorcycle skills you learned while taking the course.

The pass rate at my safety class was very high. I don’t know of anyone who ‘failed,’ but the instructor stated the worse thing that happens is you still operate under the Pa Learner’s Permit test and practice on your own to schedule another road test or retake the safety class.

The motorcycle safety class was so beneficial; I am thinking about taking more courses since in Pa, the DMV offers free experienced motorcycle rider safety classes to enhance your riding skills.

Motorcycle riding has inherent dangers due to not being wrapped around with a steel cage, like a car, so getting better at identifying risks and learning the course of action could save my life.

Bikes lined up a safety class so we can complete our Pennsylvania motorcycle road test.

Just Me…Newly Licensed.

Hi I’m Tom, A New Motorcycle Rider and Blog Author.

I am a new motorcycle rider(Pa Motorcycle Learner’s Permit at the end of 2020, and I received a full M-Class Pa Motorcycle License in 2021, only after passing the Pa Motorcycle Safety Course).

I bought my first motorcycle, a TaoTao TBR7 (A Chinese Dual-sport motorcycle), at the beginning of 2021 and have been doing upgrades on that motorcycle since.

I added to my motorcycle collection by buying a Boom Vader Gen 2 motorcycle in 2022, and that little Grom-Clone bike has been upgraded by me as well.

I continue to ride my Boom Vader Gen 2 motorcycle as well as my TaoTao TBR7 dual-sport bike.

Fun Fact: I’ve only been on one group ride.
